Getting away decisively, he built his charge with incisive and consistent pace in the first eight laps, moving up to tenth position before half-distance. In the second half he continued to gain ground, finishing eighth with solid race pace throughout and a best lap of 1'50.319 on lap three. After a weekend compromised by missing Q2 by just 63 thousandths, Barry responded on track with the most combative race of his season, demonstrating the maturity and consistency that have characterised his recent performances.

Tony Arbolino finished eleventh at his home race at Mugello, gaining one position from the grid. After a good start and a promising opening with his best lap already on lap three (1'50.720), a difficult moment on lap six saw him slip into a rhythm slightly below expectations in the middle phase of the race. Tony nevertheless brought the bike home consistently, finishing just outside the top ten.
