Il weekend era iniziato nel migliore dei modi per Tony Arbolino e il Team REDS Fantic Racing nel GP di casa per il pilota lombardo. Venerdì ha firmato il miglior tempo assoluto nella FP1 disputata sul bagnato, confermando il feeling eccezionale con le condizioni di scarsa aderenza già mostrato nel corso della stagione. Sull'asciutto il lavoro è stato progressivo: ventitreesimo nelle prove libere del venerdì, nono nella FP2 del sabato mattina con un significativo passo avanti nel settore veloce della Casanova-Savelli.
In qualifica ha centrato il passaggio dalla Q1 con il terzo tempo, per poi conquistare la dodicesima posizione in Q2. Tony scatterà dalla quarta fila con un passo gara competitivo e la gestione gomma che nelle ultime gare si è dimostrata tra le migliori della griglia. Alla vigilia della gara di casa, si presenta con le credenziali migliori dell'intera stagione europea e la determinazione di regalare una prestazione di rilievo al pubblico del Mugello.
Barry Baltus ha confermato la velocità e la consistenza che lo stanno caratterizzando in questa fase della stagione. Diciannovesimo nelle prove libere del venerdì sull'asciutto e ventiquattresimo nella classifica ufficiale della FP2, i risultati sulla carta non raccontano il reale potenziale mostrato nel weekend. Nella simulazione gara della FP2, Barry ha girato sette giri consecutivi con la miglior regolarità dell'intero schieramento e un passo in costante miglioramento.
Un giro cancellato nella stessa sessione, che lo avrebbe piazzato settimo nella classifica di sessione, e un distacco di soli 63 millesimi dal passaggio in Q2 non rendono giustizia al valore delle sue prestazioni. Barry partirà dalla diciannovesima casella, ma con la consapevolezza di avere il ritmo per risalire in gara, come già dimostrato nelle ultime uscite.

The weekend got off to the best possible start for Tony Arbolino and REDS Fantic Racing at the home GP for the Italian rider. On Friday he set the fastest time overall in the wet FP1 session, confirming the exceptional feeling in low-grip conditions he has shown throughout the season. On the dry the work was progressive: twenty-third in Friday's free practice, ninth in Saturday morning's FP2 with a significant step forward in the fast Casanova-Savelli sector.
In qualifying he secured passage from Q1 with the third-fastest time, before claiming twelfth position in Q2. Tony will start from the fourth row with competitive race pace and tyre management that has proven to be among the best on the grid in recent races. On the eve of his home race, he arrives with the best credentials of the entire European season and the determination to deliver a standout performance for the Mugello crowd.
Barry Baltus confirmed the speed and consistency that have characterised this phase of his season. Nineteenth in Friday's dry free practice and twenty-fourth in the official FP2 classification, the results on paper don't tell the full story of the potential shown this weekend. In the FP2 race simulation, Barry completed seven consecutive laps with the best consistency of the entire field and constantly improving pace.
A cancelled lap in the same session, which would have placed him seventh in the session classification, and a gap of just 63 thousandths from progressing to Q2 don't do justice to the quality of his performance. Barry will start from nineteenth on the grid, but with the knowledge that he has the pace to fight through the field in the race, as he has already shown in recent outings.
The team heads into Sunday's race with two confident riders and a technical package that has shown concrete progress over the weekend, both on single-lap pace and race distance management.
Le week-end avait débuté de la meilleure façon pour Tony Arbolino et REDS Fantic Racing pour le GP à domicile du pilote italien. Vendredi, il a signé le meilleur temps absolu en FP1 sous la pluie. Sur le sec, le travail a été progressif : vingt-troisième en essais libres le vendredi, neuvième en FP2 le samedi matin.
En qualifications, il a décroché le passage du Q1 avec le troisième temps, avant de conquérir la douzième position en Q2. Tony partira de la quatrième ligne avec un rythme de course compétitif.
Barry Baltus a confirmé la vitesse et la constance qui le caractérisent. Lors de la simulation de course en FP2, Barry a bouclé sept tours consécutifs avec la meilleure régularité de tout le peloton et un rythme en constante amélioration.
Un tour annulé qui l'aurait placé septième, et un écart de seulement 63 millièmes du passage en Q2, ne rendent pas justice à la qualité de ses performances. Barry partira de la dix-neuvième place, avec la certitude d'avoir le rythme pour remonter en course.
L'équipe aborde la course de dimanche avec deux pilotes confiants et un package technique qui a montré des progrès concrets.

"Sicuramente non è la posizione che volevamo, siamo ancora lontani e stiamo faticando parecchio. Stamattina abbiamo trovato qualcosa con la moto: avevamo cambiato completamente l'assetto dopo il test di Barcellona, ma qui non stava funzionando. Con le modifiche di oggi ci siamo sentiti meglio, però siamo ancora distanti dai primi. Dobbiamo capire il perché e trovare una strategia migliore in qualifica, perché come a Barcellona gli altri sono migliorati e alla fine ci siamo ritrovati in difficoltà. Non è un momento facile, ma domani sarà una gara lunga e cercheremo di tirare fuori il massimo."

This morning we found something with the bike: we had completely changed the setup after the Barcelona test, but it wasn't working here. "La Q1 di Barry purtroppo non è andata come speravamo. Abbiamo utilizzato una strategia che ha funzionato bene per Tony, permettendogli di accedere alla Q2, ma non per Barry. La Q2 di Tony è stata un po' condizionata dal traffico, ma siamo abituati a gestire queste situazioni e la dodicesima posizione è un buon punto di partenza per riportarlo nelle posizioni che gli competono. Per domani ci aspetta sicuramente una gara d'attacco: abbiamo visto sia in Q1 che in Q2 che sia Tony che Barry sono della partita."
