REDS Fantic Racing chiude il sabato del Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna con indicazioni positive in vista della gara di domani. Tony Arbolino scatterà dalla tredicesima posizione, mentre Barry Baltus partirà quattordicesimo, in una qualifica caratterizzata da distacchi estremamente ridotti.
REDS Fantic Racing closes Saturday at the British Grand Prix with positive indications ahead of tomorrow's race. Tony Arbolino will start from thirteenth position, while Barry Baltus will line up fourteenth, following a qualifying session characterised by extremely tight gaps.

Giornata di riscatto per Tony dopo l'esclusione dalla Q2 diretta del venerdì per soli sette millesimi. Il pilota italiano ha risposto immediatamente in Q1, firmando il secondo tempo e conquistando l'accesso alla fase decisiva.
In Q2 Arbolino ha fermato il cronometro in 2'02.432, chiudendo tredicesimo. Un risultato maturato in un gruppo estremamente compatto: Tony è a un solo millesimo dalla dodicesima posizione e a nove millesimi dall'undicesima, con cinque piloti racchiusi in appena un decimo.
Particolarmente incoraggiante il lavoro svolto nella FP2 del mattino, dove Tony ha mostrato un passo competitivo anche a gomme usate e una buona gestione degli pneumatici sulla distanza. Le indicazioni raccolte lasciano quindi fiducia in vista della gara di domani.
Continua positivamente il rientro di Barry Baltus. Il pilota belga ha chiuso la FP2 del mattino al terzo posto, a soli 65 millesimi dalla vetta, confermando la velocità già mostrata nella giornata di venerdì. In qualifica Barry ha registrato lo stesso identico tempo di Tony, 2'02.432.
Nonostante la posizione in griglia, il passo gara mostrato nel corso del weekend rappresenta uno degli elementi più incoraggianti per il pilota numero 7, che continua inoltre a ritrovare progressivamente la propria condizione fisica dopo l'infortunio.
REDS Fantic Racing affronterà la gara di domenica con entrambi i piloti a ridosso delle prime file. I distacchi estremamente ridotti della qualifica confermano l'altissimo livello della Moto2 a Silverstone: appena un decimo e mezzo separa i due piloti REDS Fantic Racing dalla seconda fila.
Con 5,9 chilometri di lunghezza e numerose possibilità di sorpasso, il circuito britannico offre inoltre diverse opportunità per recuperare posizioni. Il passo mostrato nelle sessioni di prova sarà quindi la principale carta da giocare nella gara di domani.
A day of redemption for Tony after missing out on direct Q2 qualification on Friday by just seven thousandths of a second. The Italian rider immediately responded in Q1, setting the second-fastest time and securing his place in the decisive session.
In Q2, Arbolino stopped the clock at 2'02.432, finishing thirteenth. The result came in an extremely tight group: Tony is just one thousandth of a second from twelfth position and nine thousandths from eleventh, with five riders covered by just one tenth.
The work carried out in FP2 on Saturday morning was particularly encouraging, with Tony showing competitive pace even on used tyres and good tyre management over the distance. The indications gathered therefore provide confidence ahead of tomorrow's race.
Barry Baltus' comeback continues on a positive note. The Belgian rider finished third in FP2 on Saturday morning, just 65 thousandths of a second from the top, confirming the speed already shown on Friday. In qualifying, Barry set the exact same lap time as Tony, 2'02.432.
Despite his grid position, the race pace shown throughout the weekend is one of the most encouraging elements for the #7 rider, who is also progressively regaining his physical condition following his injury.
REDS Fantic Racing will line up for Sunday's race with both riders close to the front rows. The extremely tight qualifying gaps confirm the very high level of Moto2 at Silverstone: both REDS Fantic Racing riders are just one and a half tenths from the second row.
At 5.9 kilometres in length and with numerous overtaking opportunities, the British circuit also offers several chances to recover positions. The pace shown during the practice sessions will therefore be the team's main asset to rely on in tomorrow's race.

Malgré sa position sur la grille, le rythme de course montré au cours du week-end représente l'un des éléments les plus encourageants pour le pilote numéro 7, qui continue par ailleurs à retrouver progressivement sa condition physique après sa blessure.
REDS Fantic Racing abordera la course de dimanche avec les deux pilotes proches des premières lignes. Les écarts extrêmement réduits des qualifications confirment le très haut niveau de la Moto2 à Silverstone.
Avec ses 5,9 kilomètres et ses nombreuses possibilités de dépassement, le circuit britannique offre en outre plusieurs opportunités de récupérer des positions. Le rythme montré lors des sessions d'essais sera donc un atout déterminant.

"Sabato positivo per me. Già da stamattina abbiamo dimostrato un buon passo a gomme usate, quindi sono abbastanza soddisfatto del lavoro fatto. Siamo a pochi decimi dal sesto, circa un decimo e mezzo, quindi è importante. Nel secondo run la pista era peggiorata un po' e abbiamo fatto più fatica, ma la gara sarà abbastanza lunga domani e abbiamo un buon passo. Possiamo fare un bel lavoro."

È un risultato che ci dà un senso di positività, perché sia Arbolino sia Baltus hanno fatto un buon lavoro. Confidiamo anche nel lavoro fatto questa mattina, dove abbiamo visto il buon ritmo di Tony e la velocità di Barry. Per lui c'è naturalmente anche da considerare l'aspetto fisico: dopo un infortunio importante e un lungo stop, è una componente che può diventare un avversario in più. Ma siamo molto soddisfatti di come sta affrontando questo rientro."
