For Barry Baltus, the Aragón Grand Prix was an opportunity to make the most of a weekend that had started in the best possible way, with direct qualification for Q2 and the announcement of his contract renewal with REDS. The Belgian rider qualified seventh overall, but the combination of two penalties forced him to start from nineteenth on the grid.
This inevitably made the opening stages of the race more difficult, with Barry having to fight his way through the traffic. His pace improved during the second half of the race, allowing him to recover positions and eventually finish fifteenth, securing one World Championship point.
Tony Arbolino produced the biggest comeback of the Aragón Grand Prix. Starting from twenty-ninth after an unfortunate technical issue during qualifying that effectively prevented him from taking part in the session, the Italian rider recovered thirteen positions over the nineteen laps to finish sixteenth after a clean, error-free race.
His pace over race distance was once again one of the most encouraging aspects of his performance, confirming the strong pace and tyre-management ability already demonstrated at Silverstone.
The Aragón race therefore reinforces a clear conclusion: the speed to fight at the front is there, but the potential of both rider and bike needs to be fully exploited from qualifying onwards in order to start from the front two rows and fight for the leading positions.
The Aragón Grand Prix leaves REDS Fantic Racing with positive feelings. Barry's penalty had a major impact on a weekend in which he had qualified seventh, while Tony had to build his race from the very back of the grid.
Despite this, both riders once again demonstrated competitive pace. Following the performances in Silverstone and Aragón, the team's focus will now turn primarily to qualifying, with the aim of giving both riders the opportunity to turn the potential they have shown into concrete results.
The next stop will be the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano, where the team arrives determined to take another step forward and build on the work carried out over the last two rounds.

"We had to fight our way through the field and, considering where we started, both riders did a good job. Barry found himself in some traffic in the first part of the race, but he improved strongly towards the end and finished in the points. Tony also had a strong race, recovering thirteen positions and once again demonstrating very good pace. Unfortunately, starting that far back makes everything much more difficult, because in these situations you have to take more risks and you lose a lot of time in traffic. The potential is there, and we saw that once again today. Now we need to work above all on qualifying and make sure we start from the position our pace deserves. Now we look ahead to Misano, with the goal of finally turning this speed into an important result."

"It's a shame, especially because of Saturday. We need to work on finding more speed in qualifying, because the feeling in the race was very good and, above all, consistent throughout the distance. We absolutely need to find a way to make the most of the potential we have, because at the moment we still aren't turning it into the result we deserve."

"It definitely wasn't the race we wanted. I'm very sorry to the team and to all my crew, because we've worked hard and deserved a better result. It was difficult to get out of the group at the beginning, but once I found clear track the pace was good. It's a shame, but now we need to look ahead and bounce back at the next one."
